I first heard Fearless in a live setting where Emily had introduced it as a song she had written more about herself as songwriters she had worked with commented that she always wrote from others perspectives. Once she sang it I related to every single word she was singing and felt it all profoundly. It was the realness and honesty of the performance that drew me into the song. This song kicks of with very clever production and instrumentation that backs the theme of this song so well and credit for that goes to Sue Mcmillian. Its a stunning track that has a great drum pattern behind it and crescendos througout the song. Emily's vocal is strong as well as raw. It's a defining moment in Emily's career and a turning point in her songwriting from this point on. Country music is always mentioned as three chords and the truth and this song embodies a truth that deep down anyone can relate to you. Its a song that you can feel understood and comforted by as well as inspired. It's an uplifting song and a stunning track.
